I got annoyed today. I'm seeing so much that pisses me off in this lockdown!
On my dog walk, I went to the quietest place I know near me, a woodland. I have only ever seen two people there in five years, I think. Today there were three groups of teenagers hanging about in the woods, cooking marshmallows on a bonfire, drinking and other stuff, clearly not socially isolating.
I had to pop to the shop for some milk and other essentials (oh ok then, and ice cream!), and yet again there's no flour - not seen any since social isolating began - and no eggs. I don't understand where they're all going now people are being limited to one or two packs. Is everyone suddenly making cake who would normally buy cake? There's bloody cake on the shelves! Eggs are pretty essential in our house - I help keep my weight down by substituting toast, cereal and other such loveliness for breakfast with eggs normally.
And the Post Office. We have patchy staffing there at the best of times, so I don't know why I'm surprised about it being 'closed indefinitely'. None of the things keeping me sane in this situation was posting things to family and friends and now I can't do that. I'm pretty sure driving to another branch wouldn't be deemed essential ..?
Finally, a little closer to home. I was hand sanding a piece of wood for a new project and El Husbandio decided I hadn't done it to his standards and got out the electric sander. A) I'd finished already and proved totally capable. B) I didn't know we had an electric sander so he could have told me we did while he was observing me. C) This was MY activity fending off boredom, not his!
Ok I'm done.
For me, today, I watched some more of This Is Us - still think it's great. I laugh and cry in the same episode and totally love and feel for the characters, only four episodes in. Ooh and I had a lie in. That was good.
I was pretty productive - see above.
Helping someone... I think I failed on this one today. There's still time, it could still happen.
**Edit** I asked El Husbandio if he thinks I helped him today. He said yes, with the shopping and by making a nice lunch. That gave me the feels.
Stay safe, stay home.
